Video shows President Trump, Ukrainian President Vorodimir Zelensky and Vice President JD Vance Friday tense meeting Before the U.S. and Ukraine plan to sign rare Earth mineral trading.
At the Oval Office meeting, Mr. Trump threatened Zelensky to reach an agreement with Russia or “we withdraw.” Vance, who sat next to Trump, accused Ukrainian leaders of “disrespect”.
During the tense process of back and forth, Zelenskyy expressed doubts about Russia’s commitment to diplomacy, noting that Moscow has not kept Sorug’s past promises.
“You are gambling the lives of millions of people,” Trump told Zelenskyy. “You are gambling with World War III and what you do is very disrespectful to this country.”
Mr Trump mentioned earlier this week that the United States and Zelenskyy reached a deal on sharing a broad framework for Ukraine Mineral Resourcesand said Zelenskyy came to the White House because he “wanted to sign with me.”
White House officials said the Ukrainians left the Oval Office to head for a “separated room” after Friday’s meeting, while the U.S. team stayed in the Oval Office. While the Ukrainians were in another room, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio told them to leave.
The signing of the mineral agreement and the scheduled press conference were cancelled.
